Hala Sarhan
They call her in the Middle East Opera Winfrey al Arab, 20 years ago the Washington post wrote you love her you hate her but definitely you watch her. Hala Sarhan has two main guidelines in her media career, perfection and credibility. She was a young journalist and TV news reader on Egyptian Television. Egyptian broadcasting was her first love and school. After graduation from Cairo University and the academy of arts in the same year she chose the world of media she worked as Deputy Chief Editor of SAIDATY MAGAZINE in London main office, as well as in the USA office as a correspondent. She established kol el Nas magazine the first private sector family magazine with Mr. EMAD ADEEB and el Alam El Youm newspaper (owner).
Hala Started with Sheikh Saleh Kamel the first satellite network ART and had her HUGE HIT YAHALA, She was also the manager of women programs and assistant to the chairman. Hala then went to establish the first Egyptian private sector TV channel Dream TV with Dr. Ahmed Bahgat. She held the position of the Vice President of Dream TV. Hala established with HRH Prince Al Waleed Bin Talal Rotana network. She was the General Manager of Rotana cinema and Rotana Zaman which she established and developed. Then on top of her huge managerial duties she established Rotana studios for film production and distribution with Dr Waleed Arab Hashem as the CEO. Hala was the president of Rotana studios.
All through her long career of more than 30 years in the media she never left her role in front of the camera presenting political, entertainment and social programs. She is known for her courage and influence on Many generations. Sometimes the price of her credibility and making a ground changing breakthrough and facing the old rigid taboos with power of change and enlighten was not an easy task. For more than thirty years she never stopped her talk shows always live unedited. She believes that the soft power of media and arts will lead to peace, progress and enlightenment in the world.
